Description:
In this art project, we outlined our foot and added different items to introduce ourselves to the class. This project's requirements were to include three various media (construction paper, crayons, etc.), our name, attention to detail, and filling up space in an orderly way. In my footprint, I included pictures of my boyfriend (Jorgen) and niece and nephew (Kailynn and Taysom). I love being an auntie! I also included a softball because slowpitch softball has been a big part of my life since I was five years old. On the bottom, I wrote greys and obx that represent Grey's Anatomy and Outerbanks which are two of my favorite shows on Netflix. In the top left-hand corner, I drew a picture of a dumbbell because I enjoy working out in my free time. I also drew an N for Northern State University which I am attending to obtain my teaching degree. The last item on my footprint is a picture of people to represent all of my family and friends. I have too many family and friends to add pictures of all of them.
Extension Activity:
The extension activity that I would have my students do to introduce themselves is by having them outline their hand to make a handprint. On each finger, they would have to write something to fill out these five categories; favorite food, how many immediate family members, pets, favorite color, and their favorite subject in school. In the palm of their hand, they will draw pictures to represent each of the five categories they wrote on their fingers. In this project, students will have to use three different types of media, including their names, and use their space in an appropriate and organized way. Once they are finished they will share their handprints with a classmate and we will display them on their lockers so other students and staff can get to know them as well.
